The major themes of Schiele's work is the raw sexuality which featured throughout almost all of his work, often being presented alongside his other major theme, self portraiture. You can argue that the way in which he depicts women is different to the typical way in which the studio had been depicting women for the male viewer. In Schiele's paintings, he empowers his female subjects with their own sexuality.
Throughout the majority of Schiele's work, there appears to be a particular focus upon the hands, in some image they're elongated and distorted. One of the main influences on Schiele's work, in terms of other artists is Gustave Klimt. An exmaple of Schiele drawing influence from Klimt would be the painting, 'Self Portrait with hands of chest.'
