I recently visited the Hatton gallery in Newcastle, it was exhibiting the show 'Pioneers of Pop', featuring the works of some of the most influential British Pop artists such as Eduardo Paolozzi, Ian Stephenson, David Hockney, Joe Tilson, Richard Smith and Richard Hamilton.

It was exciting to see the works of such famous artists in person, especially in Newcastle, the birthplace of Pop Art.

I was really inspired by the work of Hockney and Stephenson, their use of colour and shape is really fascinating, I could replicate this in my work by moving away from just monochromatic paints and start to involce mixed media too.
